Ermioni is a gorgeous seaside town or- as it has been characterized – an island-town. It is the home of the municipality that bears the same name. It consists of the following settlements: Achladitsa, Podari, Petrothalassa, Hagioi Anargyroi, Kouverta, and Kineta. The civic districts of Heliokastro and Thermissia as well as the settlements of Villés, Plepi, Hagia Aikaterini, Pigadia, Solinari and Metochi belong to the municipality of Ermioni. The town can offer ideal vacations combining harmonically the tranquil atmosphere of an island with lively entertainment. The sea, that magnificently surrounds the town from two sides, forms a natural harbor in the north – a harbor that is mainly the commercial centre of the town – and the area of Mandrakia in the south. In the picturesque little taverns and the traditional cafés where octopuses hang to dry out and fishermen lay their fishing nets around, visitors can enjoy wine or ouzo accompanied with freshly-made fish mezedes (snacks). The area of Mandrakia is the liveliest part of the town as it offers entertainment till dawn. If you walk up through the tiled alleys and the beautiful houses of Ermioni, you can reach the slope of the ancient hill named 'Pronos' whose top is garnished with the little church in island style, named Hagia Ermioni; the church was built upon the base of the temple of the goddess Hera and offers a unique view. The eye from the east can reach as far as Dokos (where findings of the oldest shipwreck of the ancient time in the world were found), Hydra and even farther. The eye can look at the plain, known for its exquisite products, namely the so-called 'hermionian pomegranates', which are cultivated only in Greek fields, citrus fruit and the renowned olive oil. Another path that should not be missed walking through is towards the Windmill situated at the top of the Krothi hill opposite the harbor. The view over the town of Ermioni is breathtaking. Visitors can enjoy a swim in the crystal clear waters of Bisti as well as on sandy beaches around the town such as Kouverta, Sendoni, Petrothalassa, Hagios Demetrios, Dardiza, and the coasts of Thermissia and Plepi. Some of the events that take place in Ermioni are: 'yala-yala' for the celebration of Epiphany – a really unique and special way of celebrating the occasion, 'koulouma luncheon' in Mandrakia on Monday of Lent (or Clean Monday), the burning of Judas on Easter Sunday, the cultural programme in August with the highlight of the festivities being the Chorus Festival. In Heliokastro, the Hagioi Apostoloi open-air festival takes place on June 30. In Thermissia, the Evangelismos of Theotokos is celebrated on March 25 and the Hagia Aikaterini open-air fete on August 15.
